Within hours after the statement by Congress AP in-charge Digvijay Singh in favor of Telangana, Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal called for a press conference to vent his anger on the Seemandhra TDP leaders for this current situation.
Lagadapati used Telugu Talli card and also lashed out at Telugu Desam. "Right now, a sword is hanging on the head of Telugu Talli. Anytime, the division might happen. Sadly, Seemandhra TDP leaders who strongly protested the bifurcation of state after December 9 (2009) statement has remained silent now.
It has now become doubtful if they would vote against the Telangana resolution in Assembly. I would quit politics if state was divided," commented the leader.
The Congress MP opined that it was TDP which mounted pressure on the Union government by submitting a letter expressing its willingness to division of the state. He also claimed all the Seemandhra Congress MPs were strictly against bifurcation.
Lagadapati declared that a Telangana resolution will be proposed in the Assembly after local body polls. He, however, didn't rule out the chances of Telangana bill meeting the fate of Woman's Bill in Parliament.
