The political circles are amused by the frequent trips that the senior Congress leader and MLC D Srinivas has been making to Delhi and quietly meeting the party bosses.
The burly Telangana leader does not appear to have any problem in getting the appointments with the party President Sonia Gandhi and other bigwigs of the party.
Why is he still staying put in the national capital?
And, more importantly why is he keeping silent and maintaining a safe distance from the media? Surely, he is up to something big, say the political observers.
With his restrained public utterances, affable and accommodative nature, DS is one of the favourites of the Congress central leadership.
There is a talk in the political circles that he is being seriously considered for the post of APCC Chief, replacing Botsa Satyanarayana. This could be part of the efforts to overhaul the state party unit ahead of the 2014 elections.
Srinivas had served as the PCC Chief for two terms in the past and on both the occasions the Congress came to power in 2004 and 2009.
A section of Congress leadership feels that he is the lucky mascot and the party could achieve a hat-trick if he is at the helm.
