Mega director Harish Shankar, who is riding high post success of Gabbar Singh, has apparently put a ban on non-local artistes in his films. His latest decision to not to hire non-local artistes was praised by many. Of course, his decision to 'ban' non-local artistes has shocked many as Tollywood is famous for 'importing' actors from other states.
Speaking to a newspaper, Harish has dropped a bomb. He set the record straight that he is going to hire only Telugu-speaking artistes in his films from now. He said he has faced problems with non-Telugu artistes, since they concentrate more on how to pronounce the dialogues, than on acting.
Harish, it's definitely a decision to be welcomed by one and all. But let's see how the other directors adopt this.
