UPA 2 led union government is all set to drop a gas bomb on public. The cabinet committee on economic affairs (ccea) headed by prime minister Manmohan Singh has decided to double the price of natural gas in country from April 1, next year. This shocking move will result in increase of praises in electricity, urea, CNG and piped natural gas (gas supplied to homes through pipelines).
Union petrol minister M Veerappa Moily said that the new prices will apply uniformly to all producers, be it state-owned firms such as Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) or private sector like Reliance Industries.
With elections fast approaching and 2014 itself is an election year, Congress MPs and MLAs from state are fearing that the new raise in prices will have a drastic effect on the election results. Well, definitely congress will pay a price for its decisions.
