Saying the disqualification of the party's six MLAs by Assembly Speaker N Manohar was a 'long over due', the TDP has demanded to disqualify another four MLAs of the party for resorting to anti-party activities immediately.
Addressing the press here on Saturday, party official spokesperson S Chandramohan Reddy asked the Speaker as to why the four MLAs- G Kamalakar, Ch Ramakotaiah, S Venugopala Chary and K Harishwara Reddy were not disqualified when the party lodged complaint against them for defying the party whip. Speaker should have perform his duties impartially by disqualifying the other four members along with the six MLAs.
Stressing the need to bring changes in anti- defection law by prohibiting the defied MLAs from contest for atleast 10 years, Reddy alleged that the YSR Congress and TRS resorted to 'poaching' the MLAs of other parties by luring them with money and political power. It was unfortunate that the YSR party stooped the politics to all time low by encouraging defections in other parties.
