Ayan Mukerji's Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani marks the reunion of ex-flames Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone on screen and looking at the trailers one cannot miss the chemistry between the exes. In fact, the chemistry seems better than their previous outing together, Bachna Ae Haseeno.
"We are both ambitious and passionate actors. We do not carry the baggage of our past. I guess, this is the reason that there was no awkwardness between us," said Ranbir, who was in Delhi with the lead cast Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapoor to promote the film on Monday.
"I have learned a lot about life and love from Deepika. She has added to life, so this shows when we are together," he said, adding that he would be friends with her forever, films or no films.
One is naturally curious to know how ex-lovers can remain friends. To prove his point, Ranbir without wasting a minute shook hands with Deepika. For her part, Deepika had her own take on the relationship.
"There are no mechanics or science to it. It is mostly organic and we have gone with the flow. One needs to have the maturity of accepting life as it happens," she said, stressing that the credit of on-screen chemistry has a lot to do with the comfort level between two people.
On the rumours that the trailers highlight mushy moments from their personal lives, Deepika said: "It is only because we were in a relationship that people are trying to find meaning in the scenes.
"Chemistry cannot be created. It is either there or not."
