The Chiru for CM campaign gained momentum on Wednesday with endowments minister C. Ramachandraiaah stating that union tourism minister K. Chiranjevi is one of the top contenders for the Chief Minister’s post in the state. Ramachandraiah was speaking on the sidelines of a review meeting with endowments department officials in Warangal.
Several ministers, who have made clear their dissatisfaction with CM N.Kiran Kumar Redy over being left in the lurch on several key issues including naming of important schemes, have now reportedly endorsed Chiranjeevi for the CM post in the state, sources said.
Panchayati raj minister K.JanaReddy, APCC-chief Botsa Satyanarayanaa, and health minister D.L. Ravindraa Redy were among those who expressed resentment at the CM for being kept in the dark over announcement of schemes like ‘Amma-Hastam’ and ‘Bangaru-Talli’.
Monday’s dinner meeting of Satyanarayana and a few ministers with Mr Chiranjeevi added further weight to these speculations. Sources said Chiranjeevi himself was unhappy with several decisions taken by the CM, such as the decision to introduce power tariff hike.
